“WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING SOME KIND OF SPECIAL POWER IF YOU DON’T USE IT TO HELP PEOPLE?”
—The Amazing Spider-Man
I’m one of those artists who’s always been OK with working behind the scenes and under the radar. Yet nowadays, I find myself overseeing projects and giving creative input more than I ever thought I would. I’m realizing a little of both worlds makes me a better leader and artist. I know when to lay low, when to speak up, and when to pour into others. Ultimately, if the end result is someone feeling positive and inspired by my work, I did my job.
A little about me—I’m from Suitland, Maryland and attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in graphic illustration. I now reside in the Charlotte area with my wife and our two sons. I’m a huge wrestling fan, and getting to work with some of my favorites like Cedric Alexander is definitely a career highlight. I host a podcast with my wife and have fun creating art content on my YouTube channel. I’m an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
My art style—Since I was young, gaming, comic books, movies, and hip-hop have kept my attention. So, it’s no surprise this also influences my drawing style. I like vibrant color, texture, gradients and (intentional) not-so-clean lines. My favorite artists include Stuart Immonen, David Marquez, and Mike Mignola.
What drives me—I’m a Christian, a Black man, a husband and father, and a creative who doesn’t like dull content. This all inspires the work I do and the passion to do it well.
